It is no secret that Instagram is growing at an incredible clip. In 2017, this social network announced that approximately 800 million people use the platform each month. The latest tool - "Instagram Stories" - became more poplar than Snapchat just one year after going live.
Instagram is poised to become the go-to channel for brands interested in social media marketing because of a Facebook's new policy. Companies started to realise that Facebook is no longer the most effective communication channel.

According to Inc.com, 84% of marketers planned on executing at least one influencer marketing campaign during 2017.
A great example is Amazon. Amazon recently added a self-service tool for social media influencers to its Influencer Program. The aim of the program is to give influencers the opportunity to build a page on Amazon to show their followers the products they recommend.
3. Video will be still very popular
You've probably noticed that videos are currently very popular and many brands use them primarily for their promotion. And it will not be otherwise in 2018...
More than 55% of people consume video thoroughly, and by 2020, online videos will account for more than 80ˇof all consumer internet traffic. Bringing video content into your marketing strategy might seem like a big undertaking, but you can also start small - with a smaller budget.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) becomes enforceable from 25 May 2018 in all EU member states. As the processing of personal data occurs in almost every sphere (monitoring with the camera system, personal agenda management, order processing,...), it will affect not only large but also medium and small businesses.
According to GDPR, the rules for granting and demonstrating consent to the processing of personal data will be tightened up. There will be the obligation to keep records on data processing, the obligation to establish an independent Supervisory Authority (SA) and many other rules.

It is assumed that it will not be more positive for this platform in 2018 and therefore, so many retailers are starting to use other social networks to promote their products or services.
